Job Description
SUMMARY
Assists management to ensure that all vehicles are in sound working condition; customers are greeted and taken care of quickly.
DUTIES
AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Department/Team
1. Transports vehicles between dealerships; guarantees customer pick-up and delivery; jump start and
move vehicles as needed.
2. Drives vehicles to & from service lane, service stalls, parking lot, detail and body shop departments.
3. Deliver parts back and forth from the service buildings.
Housekeeping
1. Keeps work area and dealership neat and clean; organize supplies and equipment as requested.
2. Performs snow removal from service vehicles and walkways.
Management
1. Assists management with leading the valet department to ensure safety, customer needs, scheduling and staff are maintained efficiently.
2. Develops and ensures delivery schedule is coordinated to meet the needs of the service advisors or customers.
3. Maintains valet schedule to meet business needs.
4. Assist department managers with personnel requirements for valet area.
5.
Delegate other
duties as needed to other valets to ensure department is operating
effectively.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Must have at least one year lead/supervisory experience in a customer service or automotive related
role.
2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
3. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides.
4. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
5. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
6. Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record and at least 18 years of age required to drive
company or customer vehicles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, reach with hands & arms, use hands to finger, handle, or
feel; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch; & occasionally required to sit.
2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
4. Able to work a consistent and predictable schedule as determined by business conditions and
management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Regularly exposed to (outside) wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, & fumes or
airborne particles; frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; & is occasionally exposed to
outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
2. The
noise level in the
work environment is usually loud.
